The Capital Jewish Forum had the opportunity to hear Mr Graeme Samuel AC speak on the topic of ‘Competition, cartels and co-ordinated conduct’ at the Australian National University.

Some of the issues covered by Mr Samuel during his presentation and the subsequent Q&A session include:

·         the Global Financial Crisis – in particular Mr Samuel addressed issues relating to the banking and finance sector;

·         cartels – in this context Mr Samuel discussed the ACCC vs Visy Industries case;

·         petrol and groceries – including dealing with Kosher products; and

·         the National Broadband Network.
